Welcome to the Cardz 4 Galz two-week challenge #184. Our host for this challenge, Pamela, chose Halloween and/or a color challenge using orange, purple, and/or black for the theme. This isn’t the first time I’ve created a card with this fun fold from Connie Stewart. ( I embedded her video for this fun fold below.) The first card linked above is the same fold. I made that card and coordinating book mark for my 7 year old great-niece. I haven’t decided if this card needs to go to my (almost) 5 year old great niece, or my Halloween loving daughter. This fold looks complicated. However, if you can trim and score your paper, you can definitely make this fun fold! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Measurements:
Not only does Connie Stewart give you very clear directions for trimming and scoring, she also includes clear instructions for making the whole card!
- The very back base of Gorgeous Grape cardstock measures 5-1/2 by 4-1/4 inches.
- I used Smoky Slate for the folded base of the card. I trimmed it to 5-1/4 by 11 inches. Then, I scored it at 1-3/4 and 3-1/2 inches from either long end.
- Next, I trimmed 3 black pieces of cardstock trimmed to 1-3/4 by 4 inches. These pieces line up on the front of the card.
- I used Old Olive and black DSP (designer series paper) from last Halloween, Each of the two pieces measures 1-5/8 by 3-3/4 inches.
- I added DSP to the inside folded panels. The stars and dots DSP pieces measure 1-5/8 by 4 inches and I needed two of them.
- I used this same DSP for the envelope flap, and it measures 6 by 2-1/2 inches. At the same time, I punched a 1 inch circle of the Old Olive DSP for the envelope seal.
- The white cardstock for the inside of the card measures 3-3/4 by 5 inches.
- Using the dies from the Scary Cute bundle, I cropped the frame, haunted house, batts, and cat from Basic Black cardstock..
- HINT: If you want a perfect fit for the house to sit inside the spooky mat, crop the house from the negative part of the frame mat. By lining the house die up with the bottom of the negative piece, the house and fence will be cropped to the perfect size.
- That’s it for the measurements.
Putting the Card Together:
- II adhered all the pieces together using multipurpose liquid glue. The card is already thick and didn’t want dimensionals to make it any thicker.
- I used the Scary Cute stamp set and Momento Tuxedo Black ink to do all the necessary stamping.
- The black stars came from a Paper Pumpkin Halloween kit from two years ago.
- I can completely and totally guarantee you that following Connie Stewart’s video will help you put the card together much better than I can describe the steps. However, I have some tips I can share to hopefully make it easier for you.
- HINT: This glittery washi tape does not shed!!!! Score!!! However, the tape also needs some multipurpose liquid glue if you need to layer the tape at all. The adhesive on the washi tape isn’t enough to hold one layer onto another layer of the glittery washi tape.
- HINT #2: I used a blending brush and Crushed Curry ink to color a piece of white cardstock for the moon. I punched out a 1-inch circle and adhered it using multipurpose liquid glue to the back of the frame. Even though I fussy cut the circle as close as possible to the frame, it was still possible to see the light colored cardstock against the black cardstock. To solve this minor problem, I used the brush end of a Basic Black marker to outline the white cardstock layer.
- All that’s left to say is have fun! I really hope you try this fun fold! It’s fabulous!!!
- After all that, this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set was finished!
