Welcome to another Make My Monday challenge! It’s my turn to pick the theme, and I picked Winter, Wherever You Are. Since I live in Florida, my winters are drastically different than winters other people experience. Here’s my card:

While this card doesn’t look like a Florida winter, for one thing there are mountains. Florida is flat with a few raised areas, not even high enough to be called a true hill. Just plain flat. However, my step-daughter lives in Alaska, and the colors and landscape in this DSP (designer series paper) just looks like Alaska to me.

Paper Funday Challenge monthly blog is a new-to-me challenge. For January, the theme is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist: Winter Landscapes

Measurements:

The Blackberry Bliss base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to form a tent card.
I used a Misty Moonlight mat for the DSP, and it measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
The DSP measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches for the outside. The strip on the inside measure 1/2 inch by 5-1/4 inches.
I trimmed a coordinating piece of DSP for the envelope flap to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches.
Finally, the white cardstock for the inside panel measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.

A Simple, But Beautiful Card:

After picking the DSP and cardstock for this card, I struggle with figuring out what stamp set and embellishments I would use. I wanted to DSP to be the main focus of the card, so I looked through my stamps for a simple, but beautiful font and sentiment. This sentiment, from Heal Your Heart (August 2021 Sale-a-Bration) fit perfectly. Then, I decided no further embellishments were needed. I just let the DSP do all the work on this card.

First, I used my embossing buddy on the DSP to prepare it for the ink and clear Versamark powder. The sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight, then covered in clear embossing powder, which I heat set.
HINT: I completely forgot to do this, but when using an inkpad, it’s better to use the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment. If I’d used the Stamparatus, I would’ve been able to restamp a second layer of ink and clear embossing powder. Once heat set, the resulting embossed sentiment would’ve been much more obvious.
Next, I used the brush end of a Basic Black marker to outline the edges of the DSP.
Then, I used multipurpose glue to adhere the DSP to the cardstock.
I did want some dimension for the card so I used black dimensionals to pop up the matted DSP.
After adhering the 1/2 inch strip of DSP to the white cardstock, I stamped the inside sentiment in Misty Moonlight.
Then I used multipurpose glue to adhere the cardstock to the inside of the card.
Next, I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap, I punched a 1 inch circle of DSP for the envelope seal.
After running the punched circle through the XYRON create-a-sticker, I’d finished this coordinated card/envelope/seal set.
