I Missed the TGIF Challenge/PP466 Two-fer
My blog has been updated and nothing looks the same on my end. I already missed the TGIF Challenge #236, for which I used the color pallet of Calypso Coral, Pear Pizazz, and Early Espresso. I didn’t have much time this week to try to figure out how to use the new format. Therefore, this post will be long enough to post for the Paper Players 466 challenge, but that’s about it. I need time to play around with the new format. I’m amazed that the way I see the editing part of the blog is just about completely different, but much more streamlined. On the visitor side, the blog looks exactly the same.
Here’s my card:

Taking a Break from Holiday Cards
Even though I need more Thanksgiving cards, I just needed to take a quick break and create something non-holiday related. I created this card with a special someone in mind, and I really hope it will bring a smile to her face.
Supplies Used
I used three stamp sets for this card: Colorful Seasons (item # 143726) for the sentiment, Free as a Bird (item 149468) for the bird and leaves, and Crackle Paint (item # 148752. While I did need to fussy cut the bird and the leaves, it wasn’t too time consuming at all. Remember, when fussy cutting, turn the paper, not the scissors. Since I am left-handed, I have to be very careful to take off very thin layers. Lefties will understand why: the image to be fussy cut is underneath the scissors and very difficult to see.
There were also three die sets for this card: Layering Ovals (item # 141706), Seasonal Layers (item # 143751), and Stitched Rectangles (item # 148551). The Seasonal Layers die set provided me with the Early Espresso branch.
I colored the birds using the Calypso Coral blends combo, Soft Suede light blend, and the Early Espresso marker.
As Always,
Thank you for taking time out of your day to visit my blog and for leaving a comment. I hope to be back on track and much more familiar with the new format this weekend.
Have a Peachy day!

Such a beauty! I LOVE this card, Sue! ♥
Thanks, Brian! I knew the basics of what I wanted, but the rest of it evolved. It was fun to create and watch it come to life.
I always love the window effect. This is an awesome card.
Thanks, Ann! I can see myself creating Christmas window cards as well.
Your coral bird is really striking and I love the fussy cutting and texture you managed to incorporate in your card. Thanks for sharing your card with us over at The Paper Players this week!
Thanks, Joanne! I’m really pleased with the result of this card that just evolved from my basic idea.
