Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop!  Today’s Blog Hop is filled with projects inspired by some of our favorite Fall-themed products.  What fun!  Stampin’ Up!’s catalogs (both the Annual Catalog and soon-to-be-released Holiday Catalog) are filled with so many fun products for the Autumn holidays – and we are excited to share our creations with you today.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Here’s my card:

I initially made this card for last week’s Global Design Project 100th card challenge but decided to save it for this blog hop.  I CAS(E)d my fearless upline, Brian King, using some fabulous new products available in the soon-to-be-released holiday catalog.  I chose this colorful DSP for the background of the card  because the colors just match what I remember from FALL  when I was growing up on Long Island (I live in Florida now and completely miss experiencing seasons actually change).  The Painted Autumn DSP has some fabulous paper designs and colors, and I highly recommend adding it to your holiday catalog wishlist!  The base is Lemon Lime Twist, with another layer of Early Espresso under the DSP, which allows the DSP to pop right off the card!

The Leaf Punch coordinates beautifully (as all SU punches do!) with the Painted Harvest stamp set.  The leaf stamp is a two-step set, and I stamped the base in Cajun Craze and the details in Early Espresso on a Very Vanilla base, then punched it out.  I used mini-dimensionals to pop the leaf, but allow it to lay under the label.  CUTE!

I also used the new Every Day Label Punch for the Lemon Lime Twist top piece and 2 Early Espresso pieces used to create the mat.  The layered label is popped up with dimensionals.  When I was doing a “dry run” of the card, I realized that I needed something under the labels, so I grabbed my Lemon Lime Twist ribbon, stamped my greeting from the Painted Harvest stamp set, and then attached everything together.  I’m happy with the result.  The DSP really is the star of the card, and keeping the rest of it simple, but it’s definitely not plain.
